NEWSBLAH - Quotes from today's headlines →
I made a new Tumblr that features quotes from people in the news.  The site automatically tracks sources like CNN, the New York Times, and hundreds more to identify a few timely quotes from people making today’s headlines.  It’s an alternative way to follow the news.

PlayCafe - The Online Game Show →
This is a really good idea, yet probably one that will fail many times before someone gets it right… interactive game shows for the web.  Maybe PlayCafe will be the ones to break through.  I gotta think that it’s just a matter of time till someone develops the Survivor / American Idol / Jeopardy of the internet.

Wesabe Tips Purchase Information
Wesabe recently launched a section of their site called Wesabe Tips, which provides aggregate customer data on merchants including average purchase amount, purchase frequency, and likelihood to recommend to a friend.  The data is based on actual spending habits from Wesabe users who upload bank and credit card data to the site.  It’s interesting information that could become really powerful...

Brightkite: Twitter + Maps + Photos
I got my hands on a Brightkite beta invite and played around with the app today.  It’s a really interesting Twitter-like service for sharing your location and status with friends or people nearby.  I’ve been interested in this concept for a while.  I wrote about it here a few times and even won a Hack Day competition at Yahoo! for a proof of concept that I put together to show the...

Dean Kamen: New prosthetic arm for veterans (TED Talks) This was one of the first videos I posted to my Tumblr back when just a handful of people followed my blog.  I was reminded of it this morning and thought I’d re-post it for those of you who missed it.  It’s truly one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen.  Please take 5 minutes and watch.

The Black Keys I’ve been listening to these guys a lot lately.  They’re often compared to the White Stripes, but I think that only reflects one side of their music.  Here’s a playlist of some tracks so you can judge for yourself. Hype Video →
This is a video playlist that I made based on videos posted to one of the Top 20 music blogs from the Hype Machine.  The link will automatically update as new videos are posted.  I made this using Yahoo! Pipes to aggregate the top 20 music blog feeds and then I turned the RSS feeds into a playlist using Chime.tv.  You’ll see that not all of the results are music videos, but it’s a good...

A User-Generated Radio Station
Would you listen to a radio station that is programmed entirely by a community of thousands of music fans?  Fred Wilson has a post this morning about CBS Radio’s new HD station, WNEW.  CBS combined a music blog, a Last.fm group (CBS owns Last.fm), and a HD station to create an online & offline experience for WNEW.  I don’t have HD or satellite radio and probably won’t get...
