Spin Cycle, by joelaz
A few minutes ago, I was bored, sitting around, killing time till I head out to see a show at the Great American tonight. Now, thanks to iMovie, I’m slightly less bored, dizzy, and a tad nauseous.

Radard.Tumblr
I made a new tumblelog called Radard.Tumblr that automatically posts all of the photos that make it to the Tumblr Radar. You can view large versions of all the Radar photos and “follow” new posts through your Tumblr Dashboard or via RSS feed. I initially set out to make a site that would post all Radar items (not just photos), but ran into some technical issues with the other post...

Think Twitter’s the biggest microblogging service?... →
Interesting article on the growth of a Twitter-like service in India called SMS GupShup. Makes a convincing / obvious / insightful argument that microblogging is a “nice-to-have” in the US, but a “must-have” for personal publishing in many developing countries where PC penetration is low. SMS GupShup has 7M members vs. an estimated 1M for Twitter.

Waits’ response (via):
A dead man in the back seat of a car with a fly crawling on his eyeball.
Turbulence on any airline.
Sirens and searchlights combined.
Gunfire at night in bad neighbourhoods.
Car motor turning over but not starting, it’s getting dark and starting to rain.
Jail door closing.
Going around a sharp curve on the Pacific Coast Highway and the driver of your...

Why would someone pay $715 for $630 in cash? Well, you may have heard that Microsoft recently launched a ridiculous “cash back” promotion in the hopes of bribing Google customers to switch to...

High Altitude Object
Alexei Karpenko and his buddies launched a balloon equipped with a camera, GPS, and sensors to an altitude of 30 kilometers (that’s almost 19 miles). This video was shot from about half that altitude. Check out his site for more amazing videos, photos, and stats from the flight (via Cal).
