Of the 50 most recent posts from each of the top 25 blogs in the Music Directory, only 4% are actually audio posts. I checked. The Tumblr Directory is ranked by Tumblarity. Tumblarity encourages quantity over quality. The one possible benefit I saw from Tumblarity is that it could potentially provide a valuable way to surface sites in the directory, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. ...

Fotopedia is a collaborative photo encyclopedia, sort of like a visual Wikipedia. This is an example of some photos associated with Yunnan, a province in China that I’m thinking about visiting this summer. The site looks pretty slick (though it’s unclear whether they have permissions for some of the Flickr photos).

People were sledding in Dolores Park today. They rode big blocks of ice that they carried into the park on a 75 degree day. Looks like fun.

I woke up way too early today from insomnia and decided to use the time to start to learn Final Cut Pro. I’ve been using iMovie for video editing for several months, but I’m itching for some more advanced features. This is my first Final Cut clip. It’s a video triptych of some koi fish from the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
