Fotopedia Fotopedia is a collaborative photo encyclopedia, sort of like a visual Wikipedia.  This is an example of some photos associated with Yunnan, a province in China that I’m thinking about visiting this summer.  The site looks pretty slick (though it’s unclear whether they have permissions for some of the Flickr photos). Update: An employee from Fotopedia clarified in the...

Ice Block Sledding, by joelaz (00:21) People were sledding in Dolores Park today. They rode big blocks of ice that they carried into the park on a 75 degree day.  Looks like fun.

101 South, by joelaz Heather Champ has a neat trick for turning your car sun visor into a makeshift tripod.  I tried it out on my drive to the South Bay yesterday.  Not the best video, but it’s a fun, simple technique that I’m sure I’ll use again.

Koi Triptych, by joelaz I woke up way too early today from insomnia and decided to use the time to start to learn Final Cut Pro.  I’ve been using iMovie for video editing for several months, but I’m itching for some more advanced features.  This is my first Final Cut clip.  It’s a video triptych of some koi fish from the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
