Hipmunk City Info Overlays
The info overlay heat maps that travel site Hipmunk uses for their hotel search app are really cool. When searching for a hotel, you can select options like food, nightlife, and shopping to see hotspots in town offering those experiences. In the example above, the dots represent hotels and the heat map represents neighborhoods with heavy concentrations of restaurants. The data is based on local business data provided by SimpleGeo. Super useful for finding a hotel or for people moving to a new city.

Just wanted to say thanks for the kind notes and “likes” on our engagement announcement video over the weekend. I’ve been blogging here on Tumblr for several years. I rarely post stuff from my personal life, but when I do, I’m amazed that people I’ve never met respond with such thoughtful, positive messages.
