BestAt Twitter Followers
My funny Twitter bot, @BestAt, suddenly started picking up a ton of new followers over the weekend. I’m not sure what’s driving the growth. On Tuesday, just 1,881 people followed BestAt, which aggregates some of the funniest updates from other Twitter members all in one place. On Friday, the follower count unexpectedly doubled. As of this morning, almost 20,000 people are following it.
The only explanations I can think of are either someone very popular retweeted a BestAt link or perhaps Twitter is featuring BestAt as one of their Suggested Users. The Suggested Users page is definitely capable of driving this sort of growth, but I don’t currently see BestAt on that page. It’s a mystery. I wish Twitter offered some analaytics or let people insert their own Google Analytics into their profiles so I could see what’s going on.
Update: A few people commented letting me know that @BestAt is now a Suggested User (thanks!). I wasn’t seeing it because I’m already following BestAT (duh).
