start in hongkong. take the nighttrain (softsleeper) to shanghai. stay a couple of days and take another nighttrain to beijing. or yunnan!

Beijing is the place to be. I’m actually moving there in July. In Beijing at least, check out the hutongs, as they’re disappearing fast.

Yunnan is high on my list. Kunming is a great city, and within striking distance of some great spots. You should check out JinHong.

Sounds cliche, but the Great Wall is pretty amazing. I hiked along Simatai, which is a little farther outside Beijing and very strenous.
