Sid05's Tumblr Design →
There are a few things I really like about this Tumblr template. I’d change a few of the details, but overall it’s pretty nice.
2008 Predictions by Loren Feldman. Here’s a sneak peak: “Winer invents a RSS feed for Scoble’s ass so every time he takes a shit, we all have to know about it.”
2007 ToKTA: Best Tumblr Meme
Aww. Rod Knowlton, Tumblr extraordinaire, awarded me one of his 2007 Tumblr awards: FollowOnTumblr, from Joe Lazarus With one simple run-on phrase, a list of tumblelogs he followed, and a polite request that everyone consider reblogging it, Joe made it as simple as a google search to find out what tumblelogs other tumblrs thought were worth following. Considerably more work safe than the now...
Last.fm FlickrFan: Preview Images & More
I made a few enhancements to the Last.fm FlickrFan screen saver feed that I wrote about yesterday. The RSS feed now includes preview images so you can get a sense of what photos will be included in your personalized concert screen saver. I also increased the number of photos per artist from 1 to 3 images. That way, you can enjoy multiple photos from your favorite bands. If your feed includes...
Last.fm FlickrFan Concert Photos
Are you a Last.fm fan? Would you like a free screen saver featuring awesome concert photos from your favorite bands. Do you use a Mac? If so, read on. Dave Winer launched a new image feed reader yesterday called FlickrFan. His software basically creates a screen saver out of photos from your Flickr contacts and the AP news image feed. Fred and Bijan had nice things to say about it, so I...

Milestone: Following 100 People
I crossed a milestone today. As of this evening, I’m following 100 people through Tumblr. That’s a number I’m more excited to share than the number of people following me. Frankly, my Dashboard is becoming somewhat unwieldy at this point, but I continue to find new Tumblrs I’m interested in and I decided to just keep adding people till it becomes too much to handle. I...
cityshrinker →
A gallery of tilt-shift photography. I first saw this photo effect about a year ago and haven’t grown tired of it. It plays tricks on your mind.
Digg Labs Pics →
A new visualization tool for photos submitted on Digg. I wonder if Stamen designed this.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Davey Dance Blog. Christmas came early this year… Merry Christmas Everyone go here to see in full HD resolution :http://www.vimeo.com/445255 — fishelGenius.
The Design Bookmarklet →
Ben said: This is really cool for design nerds. It’s a bookmarklet that will bring up design tools like rulers and grids — benThe overlays that this bookmarklet creates are really well designed… and useful. Thanks Ben!

How Many Five Year Olds Could You Take In A Fight? →
Jakob wrote: I’m guessing the answer is 9. I could beat every nine-year-old in the world in a fight. Doubtful. I submit Exhibit A. The prosecution rests.
Photojojo » The Ultimate Guide to Time-Lapse... →
I was just thinking I’d like to try time-lapse photography, but didn’t know where to start. Thanks Taylor! I may try this over the Holidays.
Flickr Memory Game →
Classic memory game, but this one uses images from your Flickr sets. Created by Ze Frank.
Hong Kong Pixel-Art Map →
This is a pleasant waste of time. It’s like SimCity meets Google Maps.
We Are The Web, a video from SpaceCollective. I’m not sure I understand what SpaceCollective is all about, but the content is interesting and the site is beautiful. They describe the site as a place “where forward thinking terrestrials exchange ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet, and the universe, living the lives of science fiction today.”...
Pitchfork: Top 100 Tracks of 2007 →
This is the combined list from Pitchfork’s staff. They also have lists from each individual staff member, which I liked more in some ways since you can find a person who shares your taste in music as opposed to the aggregated uber list.
Wikipedia, a non-profit, has stubbornly resisted any efforts to monetize its...
– A Few Thoughts On Google Knol (thanks Sox) The Knol project is going to fail. Google is an amazing tech company, but they don’t understand how to foster communities like Wikipedia. If all they wanted was AdSense inventory, they would have been better off creating a Wikipedia mirror hosted...
Pages tagged with "fuckingawesome" on del.icio.us →
I like to search del.icio.us for tags that I think are more likely to be used by unique & interesting people. For example, “amusing” returns different results than “funny”. The “fuckingawesome” tag seems particularly descriptive.

Why Lane Hartwell Popped the 'Here Comes Another... →
Lane’s story raises some valid concerns regarding Tumblr. I try to respect Creative Commons when posting images to my tumblelog from Flickr, but what about images from ffffound and other works where the artists rights aren’t clearly identified? Should Tumblrs post content without the artist’s explicit permission?
