Siberian Tiger Attack →
A fellow D90 owner left a comment on the video I posted the other day on Flickr. I happened to click through to his profile and found this awesome footage of tigers attacking a bird of some sort. See more interesting D90 videos through Flickr.

Camera Case Recommendation?
I need a bag or case for my new SLR camera. Any suggestions? I want something small for just the camera and standard lens. Something that doesn’t make me look like I work for the A/V lab at the local high school, ideally. Comments, reblogs, and emails are accepted.
SLR: Day One
I finally caved yesterday and bought a Nikon D90. Today was my first time ever using an SLR and my first time recording HD video. I realize that it’s somewhat absurd for a person with no experience to spend so much on a camera, but I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. I keep telling myself that it’s better for me than a flat screen TV, the only other...

A site and bookmarket that automatically shrinks Twitter posts that are over the 140 character limit by abbreviating words and shortening URL’s. Both silly and possibly useful.
Words For How We Feel Now
Photographer Emily Troutman asked hundreds of people in DC last week to choose from 26 words, some positive and some negative, to represent how they feel on the eve of the inauguration. These are their responses as photographed by Emily. Learn more about the project on Vimeo.

Microsoft Songsmith Remixes
I love this. Microsoft released some software recently called Songsmith, which takes voice recordings and overlays an automated musical accompaniment so that people without musical training or instruments can make songs just by singing. The results are technically impressive, yet also sound a little creepy and unnatural. A bunch of people on YouTube have taken the...

We're All Gonna Die: 100 meters of existence →
“This image is 100 meters long (100 m x 78 cm). There are 178 people in the picture, all shot in the course of 20 days from the same spot on a railroad bridge in Warschauer Strasse in Berlin in the summer 2007.”

Code For Humanity
A few weeks ago, I read about a non-profit based here in San Francisco named Architecture For Humantiy. Then the other day, I saw the organization’s founder, Cameron Sinclair, on a great TV show called Iconoclasts. I’m inspired by their work and have been thinking ever since whether their model could be applied to the type of work I do on the web.
Architecture For Humanity works...
